Airconditioning relief from sweltering heat at clinic

THERE was some welcome relief for doctors and patients at the Korsten Community Health Centre as the Department of Health installed seven mobile airconditioners to improve conditions in the temporary clinic where summer temperatures soar above 40°C.

The clinic is housed in a series of prefab buildings on the premises of Livingstone Hospital.

The clinic's management committee chairman, Abe Isaacs, said the recent installation of the airconditioners made it easier for the doctors to work in the consultation rooms. Previously the doctors would start feeling sick as temperatures soared.
