THE interior design department at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University is producing a high calibre of young professionals who are involved in high-profile projects across the country.
Lecturer and programme leader at the department Lené Smit said NMMU was extremely proud of the achievements of its interior design alumni, who were now working on projects for major corporates across the country.
“Often I get calls from employers who cannot believe what our students are capable of. I definitely believe the reasons they are exceptional is because of our passionate staff [and] because we only take a few students at a time, so they receive individual attention.”
Smit said potential students needed to pass a stringent selection process, including an interview process and the submission of a portfolio of work.
