ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe said yesterday that while the death of Nelson Mandela was a major loss, it did not spell the end of leadership in South Africa.
Addressing at least 1500 ANC OR Tambo regional members at Madiba’s memorial service at Cicirha College, just outside Mthatha, Mantashe stressed that ANC leaders were not Mandela but would continue with his work.
He assured the singing crowd there were leaders capable of continuing with Mandela’s work.
“The question that every journalist is asking us is what will we do without Mandela. It is not about him but about his products. He has been developing leaders for many years.
“Mandela has done a lot … every leader that was touched by Mandela, you will see his fingerprints [on them].
