Working for better things as Windvogel turns 50

WINDVOGEL, in Port Elizabeth’s northern areas, is set to come alive this weekend as residents celebrate the suburb’s 50th anniversary.

But while some will take part in the activities which start today, not everyone is as excited. Some say they have little to celebrate, as Windvogel has seen little development in the past five decades.

One group of community members has established the Windvogel Community Development Forum, which aims to bring about positive change in an area plagued by drug abuse, gang violence and poor service delivery.
