NELSON Mandela Metropolitan University, aiming to become a sustainable institution, signed a new partnership with the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) at a day-long seminar held in Port Elizabeth yesterday.

The seminar, One Planet Living: Implications for Universities, was also attended by representatives of Germany’s Oldenburg University.

As part of the memorandum of understanding signed between the three entities, NMMU will continue to promote green activities and build on existing projects, including ecological sustainable research undertaken by Prof Graham Kerley and his students in the Addo Elephant National Park, and many renewable energy research projects, especially in NMMU’s Centre for Energy Research.
