FORMER ANC Youth League deputy president Andile Lungisa was buying a R1.8-million mansion in Port Elizabeth before he was arrested for fraud.
This came to light after he allegedly hoodwinked the Arts and Culture Department into paying him R2.5- million to secure US singer RKelly’s performance in South Africa. Lungisa was arrested on October 4 and charged with fraud relating to the R2.5-million.
On September 18 last year, Lungisa entered into an agreement to buy the Summerstrand house of broke former millionaire, socialite and playboy Theunis Crous.
The 35-year-old politician paid a R20000 deposit but failed to honour the agreement to pay the full purchase price within 30 days.
