Boy, 5, proves charity’s pet

HE may be just five years old, but a Bluewater Bay, Port Elizabeth, boy is already proving he has what it takes to become a future Richard Branson – a philanthropic entrepreneur.

Eben Roodt not only phoned a company executive for donations, but he also used some of his own hard-earned savings to collect 150kg of dog food for Save-a-Pet.

When Mavis Smith of Save-a- Pet paid a visit to the Playtime Academy in Newton Park earlier this year, she brought along two abandoned dogs to help educate the pupils about the charity’s food shortage, the importance of neutering and abandoned dogs.
