Kamesh protesters claim more

A STRONG police presence along Kamesh Road has not deterred backyard dwellers who have been protesting in Uitenhage since the weekend.

Large parts of the busy street were closed as residents began levelling land and demarcating plots on a piece of ground between 20th Avenue and Duiker Crescent on Sunday.

Yesterday the potesters expanded their protest to include patches of land on the corner of Gibbon and Kamesh roads as well as Jones and Kamesh roads, and along Doornhoek Road in Gerald Smith.
