AN INJURED Englishwoman who was rescued after a violent storm rolled her yacht is hoping doctors will give her a clean bill of health today so she can rejoin her crew in Australia towards the end of the month.
Michelle Porter, of London, was rescued off the Derry~Londonderry~Doire yacht off Port Elizabeth on Friday by the NSRI after she was hit by a massive wave on Thursday.
The boat is one of several on the round-the-world Clipper Yacht Race.
The dedicated Porter, who has taken a year off to join the world’s longest ocean race, refused to go ashore initially on Thursday after she was hit by the wave, but was forced to on Friday because she felt sick and was in pain.
