Koll in running for metro police chief

HUMEWOOD police station commander Brigadier Ronald Koll is among the five candidates being considered to head up Nelson Mandela Bay’s metro police force.

The five were interviewed last week and once the metro police chief is appointed, the municipality’s safety and traffic departments will be merged to establish a 900-member force responsible for enforcing municipal bylaws.

Koll, who has a wealth of experience, faces stiff competition for the job from Correctional Services’ parliamentary researcher Mpho Mathabathe and Owen Ntsasa, who has also been Cape Town’s metro police acting deputy chief of special services and metro police head of information.
