HELPING schoolchildren “google their way out of poverty” is the objective with installing cyber labs at 1650 schools across the country.
So says Communications Deputy Minister Stella Ndabeni, who was in Port Elizabeth to launch four school cyber labs.
Each school equipped with a cyber lab receives 40 laptop computers and two years of internet connectivity. In addition, the schools are equipped with a projector screen and printer.
Filters will be used to ensure pupils do not access prohibited sites, like online gambling or dating sites.
