A PORT Elizabeth manager was released on R3000 bail yesterday after a raid on his upmarket family home allegedly uncovered 13 illegal firearms and homemade bullets.
The weapons were found in a police raid on the Church Street, Walmer, home of Gerhardus “Kobus” Greyling, 36, late on Tuesday night following a tip-off from a member of the public.
Greyling, a technical unit manager at MTN, was remanded at the Walmer police station until yesterday.
Ammunition, handmade bullets and 13 firearms, including a 45-calibre semi-automatic pistol, a shotgun and a .308 hunting rifle were seized. It is not yet known why Greyling had the weapons in his possession.
