EASTERN Cape rugby supporters are holding their breaths as they await tomorrow’s Currie Cup First Division final between the EP Kings and the Pumas in Nelspruit.
And none more so than Port Elizabeth resident Carmen de Wet, 27, of Lorraine, who was named the Kings’ most passionate supporter. De Wet – up against an equally passionate Pumas supporter – stands to win R100000 should the Kings bring home the trophy.
“I am not a Kings supporter; I support EP rugby! There is a big difference. Kings supporters are seasonal depending on the league and previous game score. I support EP regardless of the league, opposition or score,” De Wet said.
“I am very excited for Friday’s game – win or lose I will still be behind our boys.”
The personal assistant said her love for rugby stemmed from her family’s fascination with sport.
