Two PE beaches can fly the flag

TWO of Port Elizabeth's most popular beaches have been awarded Blue Flag status – one regained it and the other retained it.
Beaches have to meet strict criteria to be awarded the eco-label.
Kings Beach, which lost its Blue Flag status almost three years ago because of storm water management issues, has sorted out the problem and is now proudly Blue Flag once again.
Humewood retained its Blue Flag status, which it regained in November 2011 after it had been temporarily suspended at the beginning of the year due to managerial and quality control problems.
