Killer describes brazen escape

A DANGEROUS convict described his brazen escape from a Port Elizabeth hospital in chilling detail yesterday, including the violent death of the lone, unarmed prison guard who had accompanied him.
The court heard how a gun was smuggled to the St Albans maximum security prisoner in a toilet at Livingstone Hospital – and how he shot the guard and left him lying bleeding on the ground as he made his escape.
A bloodbath at the busy medical centre was narrowly avoided.
