Young Bay 'scientist' excels

MASIPHATHISANE High School pupil Phinda Runeli, 14, won a silver medal for the best development project in the regional Eskom Expo for Young Scientists. Runeli designed headphones from recycled material.
After impressing the judges by excelling in engineering and energy efficiency in the regional expo, Runeli was selected to showcase his design at Eskom's International Science Fair in Johannesburg – where he had to compete with pupils from Swaziland, Lesotho and Namibia.
He received a certificate on account of his impressive works.
