Macozoma 'humbled' by honour

FOR prominent Eastern Cape businessman Saki Macozoma, being honoured with the highest award in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa this week was a humbling experience.

Macozoma, one of South Africa's richest men, was admitted to the Order of Simon Cyrene by the church.

Archbishop Thabo Makgoba of Cape Town bestowed the order on Macozoma for distinguished service at a meeting of the church's Provincial Synod in Benoni on Monday.

The former Port Elizabeth businessman was hailed as a truly umntu wabantu [people's person] by the church.
