Design plan for NMMU wins award


A BOLD and spacious design plan for Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) has scored an international award for a Cape Town firm of architects .


The Urban Design Framework is already being implemented with the completion of several new buildings.


DLMM received the International Architectural Award last month.


The entry, competing against 60 other projects, was the only one selected for an award from Africa.


To date, an iconic Engineering building and new Human Movement Sciences centre have been completed, while the new R116-million Business School at Second Avenue and a new 278-bed residence on South Campus are nearing finalisation.
