Danny Jordaan sets out his goals as Safa president

NEW SA Football Association president Danny Jordaan committed himself to a total reconstruction of development following his overwhelming election victory. On Saturday, Jordaan won by a landslide 162 votes to opponent Mandla "Shoes" Mazibuko's 88 in the elections held at Safa's congress at Helderfontein Estate in Midrand.


The new president committed himself to providing proper development structures.


"We think we are a football nation but we are not. Germany has 80000 junior matches over a weekend, Spain 30000, France 40000, and I think if you find 3000 in South Africa you would be lucky.


"So we have to start at the level of Local Football Associations [LFAs], with under-13, U15, U17 and U19 leagues each weekend.
