Thumbs up for new skate park on beachfront

IF you can pop the nipple and slide straight down the fun box, you are probably having the cleanest fun around on Port Elizabeth's beachfront.

The nipple and fun box were some the obstacles at the launch yesterday of Nelson Mandela Bay's new skate park at Kings Beach.

More than 1000 people gathered around the "awesome" new facility.

The skate park is part of Mandela Bay Development Agency's (MBDA) beachfront revamp.

Skate boarding and extreme cycling enthusiasts thronged to the new park to witness a smorgasbord of skating and cycling action.

Held under sunny skies, the event was hallmarked by a vibrant atmosphere of smiling children and heart-stopping jumps and tricks.
