Students flock to NMMU polls

THE Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) campuses were a sea of red and blue yesterday as thousands of excited students flocked to the polls to elect a new Student Representative Council.


Friends and foes gathered at voting stations at the south, north, Second Avenue and Missionvale campuses, with representatives from the DA Students' Organisation (Daso) and the South African Students Congress (Sasco) encouraging them to make their vote count.


Officials counted the votes last night and the results are expected to be released today.
