Sasco ready to put modesty aside to win SRC elections

THE South African Students Congress (Sasco) SRC election candidate, Luzuko Mtshongwana, yesterday said it was their modesty and not non-performance that led to the ANC-aligned student body being toppled from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University SRC two years ago.

Sasco regional chairman Mtshongwana, 25, attributed their loss in 2011 to "not bragging enough" about their successes on campus.

Mtshongwana served in the then Sasco SRC as the faculty of arts representative.

NMMU students will go to the polls tomorrow in an election that will be closely watched by the ANC and DA's senior leaders.
