Preschool celebrates 13th year

WALMER Smiley Kids Preschool principal Debbie Barnardt cannot stress enough the importance of a child's emotional and academic development from an early age.

The preschool, which is celebrating 13 years of existence as part of the nationwide Smiley Kids Association franchise, treated staff, pupils and parents to a fun day in the sun this past weekend.

There were lots of fun games and awesome prizes for parents and pupils taking part.

The school's classes from the two- to three-year-old group, known as the Butterflies, to the Grade R class, which is called the Lions, entertained guests with a mini concert before the games.

Looking back at how the preschool and its little pupils have grown in the 10 years that she has been at its helm, Barnadt is looking forward to another 15 years of nurturing little children.
