Contractor's job on the line due to strike


A NELSON Mandela Bay construction worker is afraid he will lose his job if the traffic department strike does not end soon.


The fed-up L&P Construction employee was turned away on Friday when he went to the traffic department to do a specialised licence test, which he had booked three months ago.


Greenbushes resident Calton Frame, 36, said the traffic department strike, now in its second week, had put him in a tight corner as one of the conditions of his employment contract was that he have a licence "by the end of August".


"I am so tired of this monkey-pality in charge of the Bay," he said.
