A PORT Elizabeth woman has been questioned by police after she allegedly masqueraded as an attorney to defraud homeowners out of thousands of rands. Paralegal Nicolene Jacobs was questioned in connection with a number of fraud cases opened against her by a string of alleged victims.

Jacobs, 33, has been operating Legal Shield Protect from Dalton Road, Sidwell, for about two years.

She was held at the Mount Road police station for several hours before she was eventually released. The alleged victims claim Jacobs duped them out of their hard-earned cash.

Jacobs sells herself as a "legal council" and advertises the services of contract law, business law, civil litigation, divorce law, wills and estate, property law and conveyancing, debt collecting and labour law.
