College in search of new home

ED-U-COLLEGE will vacate its home in Port Elizabeth's CBD for nearly 20 years by the end of this year – but new premises for the independent school have not yet been finalised.

Chief executive Lillian Niemann confirmed yesterday the college would vacate the Transnet- owned Payne's and Harbour buildings by December 31 and pay rent until then.

This follows an ongoing bout of litigation between Niemann and Transnet.

Transnet attorney Craig de Lange said his client had agreed to the December 31 date to give pupils an opportunity to complete the year.

Ed-U-College has been housed in the Payne's Building since 1996 and the Harbour Board Building since 2008.
