AS the dejected Southern Kings arrived home to a muted welcome from a small group of die-hard fans yesterday, Kings chairman Cheeky Watson said they would not throw in the towel after losing their Super Rugby status to the Lions on Saturday.
Former Kings director of rugby Alan Solomons was fuming after the game and lashed out at rugby administrators for the system that saw the Kings relegated.
“I think it is an absolute disgrace that we are not in Super Rugby and if we are interested in truly transforming this game, the Eastern Cape has to be there.
“We need some leadership here and leadership has got to decide what they want to do about South African rugby,” he said.
