PUBLIC Works Minister Thulas Nxesi has lashed out at those within the ANC who leak stories to the media about divisions in the party and has called for an open debate about the weaknesses of the tripartite alliance.
Nxesi, who is also the national deputy chairman of the South African Communist Party (SACP), was speaking at the 92nd anniversary of the organisation at the Nangoza Jebe Hall in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth, yesterday.
The SACP’s national general secretary, Blade Nzimande, was due to attend the event, but he did not show up and no explanation was given.
Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Ben Fihla, ANC councillor Noluthando Mapu, ANC provincial executive member Lindelwa Dunjwa and former mayor Zanoxolo Wayile were among those who attended.
