THE upmarket Villa Tuscana boutique hotel is demanding almost R7000 from ANC leader Andile Lungisa after his guests spent four nights at the Summerstrand establishment, but left without paying.
Hotel manager Marietjie van Gende said Lungisa, an ANC provincial executive committee member, organised for four guests to stay at Villa Tuscana during last month’s ANC conference.
“They stayed at the hotel from the 27th to the 30th but left without settling the R6982 bill.”
Lungisa did not stay at the hotel but yesterday promised to settle the bill today.
“They did not prebook the place. I phoned him [Lungisa] because he is the one I was dealing with and he assured me they would pay before the guests checked out,” van Gende said.
“They pulled a fast one on us. We have been trying to call him even from our cellphones, but as soon as he realises it is us, he drops the phone and never answers again
Lungisa said he had just returned from Ethiopia yesterday and would settle the bill today.
