Nelson Mandela Bay residents who have been announced as among the top 200 young South Africans are surprised and humbled by the accolade.
More than 20 young people from the Eastern Cape were selected this year to appear on the Mail & Guardian’s annual 200 Young South Africans list. It is compiled by researchers as well as through nominations from the public and celebrates the work of South Africans aged 35 and under who are beating the odds and achieving in their various fields.
Xabiso Sidloyi, 31, founder of ArchWorXS Architects and Project Managers which is based in Nelson Mandela Bay and runs a satellite office in East London, said he felt privileged to have made the list.
Since starting his firm in 2008, Sidloyi employs 16 people and has been honoured by the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber as one of its top 40 Under 40 business achievers.
Zoe Waters, finance and corporate services director and company secretary at the chamber, said she was overwhelmed and humbled to have made the list.
