RESIDENTS of Somerset East and relatives have appealed for assistance in locating a 43-year-old mentally disabled woman who has been missing since late March.
Westview resident Liena Hanse was last seen in her community when she was noticed walking into the mountains bordering the town on March 27.
Community member Dawid Harris said Hanse was reportedly seen again in Pearston, about 50km from Somerset East, on May 4.
“After she was seen walking into the mountains, police dog units from both Queenstown and Cradock searched for her unsuccessfully. We later established that she … was dropped off in Pearston town by a farmer on May 4. She has not been seen or heard of since.” Hanse is described as short and stocky, with an introverted personality.
