A GROWING Port Elizabeth business has become the first blackowned company to own a route licence for gambling slot machines.
African Pioneer Limited, owned by Stephen Dondolo and other Bay business people, launched Pioneer Slots at a cocktail function at the Opera House in Port Elizabeth on Friday.
In October last year, Pioneer Slots was granted a route operator licence to install 1000 limited payout machines (LPMs) in the Eastern Cape by the Eastern Cape Gaming and Betting Board (ECGBB).
The LPMs are installed in places with liquor licences – including restaurants, bars, clubs, pubs and mini urban casinos – throughout the Eastern Cape that meet the criteria of being a site operator as specified by the ECGBB.
