A NELSON Mandela Bay traffic officer who uses advanced karate moves to direct traffic at a busy intersection brings a smile to the faces of motorists every morning.
Mthuthuzeli Mzini, 51, instructs and entertains drivers for an hour each day at the corner of Lindsay Road and Keaton Street in Korsten.
He has been working at the spot for three years.
Come rain or shine Mzini is on duty there, getting the traffic to flow smoothly with his exotic actions.
“I am a people’s person and it feels good to see a smile on people’s faces. This is one of the busiest areas and as a result motorists get frustrated when there is a lot of traffic because they all want to make it to work on time.
“Since I started here three years ago, a lot has changed … there is no longer hooting and shouting among the drivers,” Mzini said.
