MUSEUMS in Port Elizabeth will pull out all the stops this weekend as they celebrate International Museum Day.
The festivities will include poetry readings, music, face painting, street art, museum tours and quilting demonstrations.
The Red Location Museum in New Brighton will have a school programme today with activities including street art, where artists will mentor children on the beauty of art.
No 7 Castle Hill museum in Central will be celebrating tomorrow with a viewing of crafts, including lace and Victorian jewellery, spinning and quilting.
The Bayworld museum complex will offer behind-the-scenes tours on Sunday from 9am to 4.30pm, with dissections of a seal and shark, viewing of rare artefacts and screening of the environmental documentary, Thin Ice.
The South End Museum will have a school poetry display.
