Author’s child the inspiration behind anti-poaching book

THE vivid imagination of a little boy inspired his father to write a book carrying a strong anti-poaching message.

Ogres of Greed, written by Gerard Victor, a former Port Elizabeth school teacher and now full-time author, is endorsed by Kariega Game Reserve’s foundation.

The book’s animal characters all work together in defeating a greedy poacher and his trackers.

“I hope this book teaches children and adults alike about teamwork, caring for others for no benefit of their own, and keeping one another safe,” 42-year-old Victor said.

Victor’s son, Chandler, now 11 years old, was the inspiration behind the characters in the book.
