DARRYL Atwell and Antony Esterhuysen plan to walk 5000km by the end of the year to spread Nelson Mandela’s message of peace and love.
The two men are walking around the country with a South African flag in a bid to spread the former statesman’s message of goodwill.
Atwell, 37, is from Kimberley, and Esterhuysen, 35, is from Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal.
“The objective of our walk is simply to thank Nelson Mandela before it’s too late. He has done so much for our country and this walk is in honour of him,” Atwell said.
They arrived in Port Elizabeth three days ago and are expected to leave today for East London on their way to Durban.
