A PARKSIDE father and his young son were lucky to escape from their car just seconds before it burst into flames after a collision on the N2 freeway yesterday.
A short while earlier, traffic on the freeway came to a standstill for half an hour, after a vehicle struck three calves which had wandered onto the freeway.

Nelson Mandela Bay Municipal spokesman Mthubanzi Mniki said the accident happened next to the Kempston Road off-ramp. The clearing-up took time, causing the traffic jam.
