AN image of the ANC emblem in National Party colours published in newspapers last week has incensed the ruling party. Being likened to its former oppressors is no laughing matter for an organisation that prides itself on its liberation history.
But this is what can be expected from the DA in coming months.
The party has gone for the jugular, stepping up its campaign for next year’s elections as it attempts to reposition itself as an alternative government – one with its sights firmly on Nelson Mandela Bay.
At the centre of the campaign is to shake off its “white conservative” image and quell fears that it would bring back apartheid, should it be given power.
The Know Your DA drive, labelled by the ANC as an evil distortion of history, seeks to market the party as one whose leaders fought the apartheid regime as much as the ANC.
