Hendrick Mphande

‘GOLD is dug out of mud, so a wonderful and beautiful thing is dug out of nothing. Irrespective of your circumstance, you can do anything you put your mind to.”

This is the motto Sakhekile Zweni lives by. A motto which was passed down from his mother Khungeka Zweni and grandmother Nokwanini Zweni.

Despite being a quadriplegic, the 31-year-old has defied all odds and graduated with an honours degree in Group Dynamics from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University yesterday.

A quadriplegic is a person who is paralysed in both arms and both legs.

The qualification Zweni now holds pertains to enhancing production and improving relations within teams.
