A PORT Elizabeth couple are hoping that the husband’s invention of a kettle that boils water without using electricity, gas or a fire pays off with a multimillion-rand bonus.

The big chance for Gerhard and Charmaine Kleynhans, of Kamma Ridge, could come in the TV reality series Big Break Legacy.

Charmaine will present their idea to a panel whose decision will result in one of 12 finalists receiving South African television’s biggest prize – a R5-million investment. The show aims to begin a revolution for entrepreneurs who build new enterprises which are innovative, exciting, sustainable and, most importantly, contribute meaningfully towards the social development of communities.
