A MAN and his dog are walking from Cape Town to Pretoria along the coast via Durban to raise awareness about disabled animals and humans.
Marne van den Heever, 69, and his three-legged dog, Tripod, arrived in Port Elizabeth from Cape Town last week after walking for 64 days. It is part of his initiative, Independent Physically Disabled Opportunities Trust (Ipdot), to rehabilitate dogs and place them in homes for the disabled as he believes “animals are the best therapy”.
“I just decided one day I was going to do the walk so I left my twin daughters behind, loaded Tripod and a few supplies on a wheelchair and went on my way,” he said.
