R600000 Porsche Boxster voted South Africa’s Car of the Year

THE 2013 WesBank / SAGMJ Car of the Year was announced at a gala banquet attended by the captains of the South African motor industry.

And for the first time in the history of the contest it was a super sportscar which took the coveted title.

The Porsche Boxster was named the winner in front of a packed Sandton Convention Centre on Wednesday.

The Porsche (priced at R598030) scored 221 points, then came the Range Rover Evoque Si4 Dynamic 5-door with 181, and third was the Toyota 86 High Spec 6MT with 177 points. Following in order of points scored were Kia Rio 144, Lexus 143, BMW 320 104, Huyndai i30 106, Nissan Juke 79, Opel Meriva 67, Ford Ranger bakkie 56, Yaris 1.5 HSD Xs 47 and lastly the Mercedes-Benz B 180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 35 points.
