Many hands make light work for pupils

PUPILS at a Port Elizabeth township school smiled from ear to ear and sang in delight as their new Grade R class was opened yesterday.

The Walmer Primary School structure, which accommodates the 89 Grade R children, is sponsored through a joint venture between Touch Africa and Dimension Data.

The two have been active in the township for the past three years, assisting both Walmer primary and high schools.

Touch Africa charity organisation co-ordinator Mike Glover said a need had been identified and the group had been lucky enough to be able to help provide a solution.

The R400000 project will lay a solid foundation in preparing the children for the rest of their education, teacher Vuyolwethu Sibeko says.
