PUPILS at a Port Elizabeth school were told to go home after they complained about classrooms that are overcrowded, stuffy and dark.
The school admits there are teacher shortages and overcrowded classrooms and says temporary teachers have not been paid.
Chaos erupted when the David Livingstone Senior Secondary School pupils refused to attend classes.
Grade 8 and 9 pupils were among those who complained that 65 pupils were forced to cram into a small classroom with little ventilation and light every day.
