Woodridge goes green, but not with envy

CREATING a nature reserve on the school’s 250ha plot is part of a 15-year plan for Woodridge College to go green and become self-sustainable.

The school on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth has already achieved its platinum status as an eco- school, but wants to do more to create environmental awareness and promote eco-friendly principles among its pupils.

Woodridge College’s Vic Radloff said its environmental society, Green Echo, had drafted a policy two years ago which was presented to the board of trustees, modified and verified by professionals.

It would be implemented this year.
