Buses stoned in strike over safety of drivers

COMMUTERS were left stranded yesterday when Algoa Bus Company drivers went on strike over alleged bullying and mistreatment by their employers.

The company has condemned the illegal strike, which is not related to the disruption of the integrated public transport system revealed yesterday by mayor Zanoxolo Wayile.

The bus company also slammed widespread intimidation, saying buses and non-striking drivers, some belonging to a rival union, had been stoned in Motherwell and New Brighton.
