M’well residents dig deep for pupil transport

RESIDENTS in Motherwell have opened their hearts to pupils left stranded since schools opened this year because of problems with school transport.

In frustration the pupils’ parents took to the streets in protest on Monday because the transport for their children from Motherwell NU29 to Vukanibantu Primary School 22km away had ceased after the bus company had not been paid.

Yesterday, residents – including school principal Amanda Ntsupa – ferried the pupils to school in trucks and private bakkies.
