Poaching bust at Willows

A JOINT operation led to the confiscation of diving equipment, including a rubberduck, and perlemoen worth about R500000 near Gate Six at The Willows along Marine Drive yesterday.

The operation – which included members of the Port Elizabeth K9 unit and the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries – began yesterday morning when authorities spotted the rubberduck anchored offshore.

Police spokeswomanCaptain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said officials pounced on divers when they spotted the rubberduck in a secluded area along Marine Drive.
