Kids given talk on sex crimes

TEACHERS at a Port Elizabeth primary school, concerned about some pupils’ overt sexual behaviour, yesterday brought in members of the family violence and child protection unit to show the children how to steer clear of sexual abuse.

Mount Road police station’s Warrant Officer Anovia Prince, Advocate Linda le Roux of the National Prosecuting Authority and Thuthuzela Care Centre, and police spokeswoman Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, who speaks on behalf of the unit, addressed the pupils at Excelsior Primary School in Mount Croix.

Prince said they wanted to enlighten the children on the dangers they could face.
