FLOODS and raging fires have come and gone in St Francis Bay, but the popular The Big Time Taverna Greek restaurant still remains standing.
Its owner, Peri Tsiotsiopoulos, believes angels, “the gods” and possibly the specials on his menu, are the reasons why.
The stylish restaurant has served the canal’s food lovers for 17 years. Just two months ago, Tsiotsiopoulos cancelled his insurance as the restaurant was not doing well.
“I have angels sitting on my shoulders. There is definitely something right that I am doing here. Maybe it is the specials on my menu. The gods are looking after me. I am the only one surviving,” he said.
